In The Shades of the Willow
My favorite tree, (and I am a TREE LOVER, just ask my husband) .. is a Willow tree. There is something so majestically peaceful about a Willow tree. As its branches grow upward and out, and just flow naturally, it creates this shade with an umbrella like covering that just draws me to it. There is just something so incredibly peaceful about them. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like tree's planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. John 7:37-38, Jesus' Red letter writing which says, 'Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'"
I never want to stop producing fruit in my life, love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) He is the way the truth and the life! (John 14:6) Perhaps me being drawn to this has been a God-wink in my life, the book of Ezekiel in the bible is a message of of hope, God providing a new heart and a new spirit to enable the people to be faithful and avoid future judgment. Ezekiel 17:5, Then he took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile field; He placed it by abundant waters And set it like a willow tree.
Lord, plant me in fertile ground, awaken my spirit to boldly live for you, to step out in faith, not fear. May my roots find your living water in my life, and may my life abide in you, and you in me. Hold me so incredibly tight Lord and may I always keep my eyes focused on you, even in the midst of the drought of life. May I ever be grounded in you, because my roots touch your living water.
In your Precious Name, Jesus
Amen
